Funding
Funding is available to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are within five years of receipt of their Ph.D. Standard support amounts will include funds for local expenses, accommodation and economy travel.

Finite fields play an important role in theoretical mathematics and also have significant applications, for instance in communications systems through coding theory and cryptography. These disciplines have evolved over recent decades, and where once the focus was on algebraic curves over finite fields, recent developments have revealed the increasing importance of higher-dimensionals algebraic varieties over finite fields.
The purpose of this meeting is to highlight recent developments and new techniques in algebraic geometry over finite fields with particular attention to the application of geometric techniques to the study of higher-dimensional algebraic varieties over finite fields.
