Zusammenfassung: One of the aims of the project is to develop
the
appropriate language of index theory for manifolds with corners.
Families
are considered in order to exhibit the geometric nature of the objects
involved.
The model cases are the interpretation of the eta-invariant of a
manifold
with corners as an element in a determinant line associated to the
boundary,
or as an element of the line, which arises as the difference of the two
trivializations
of the "two-line" associated to the corner of codimension two,
which
are given by the codimension-one faces.
