Mathematics Since September 2007 I am employed at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen as the scientific assistant of Prof. Dr. Ralf Meyer. In October 2011 I will start as assistant professor at the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen. From 2002 till 2007 I worked at the Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics of the University of Amsterdam, first as a PhD-student and later as a temporary teacher. My research interests are Hecke algebras p-adic groups affine buildings noncommutative geometry, especially periodic cyclic homology several kinds of cohomology: of Lie algebras (dormant), of sheaves and of non-Hausdorff spaces Recently I gave several talks on the Aubert-Baum-Plymen conjecture for affine Hecke algebras. Thesis In September 2002 I finished my studies at the UvA with the master's thesis Lie algebra cohomology and Macdonald's conjectures On 6 March 2007 I successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis Periodic cyclic homology of affine Hecke algebras    at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. In November 2008 the Dutch Genootschap ter bevordering van natuur-,genees- en heelkunde awarded me the Andreas Bonn medal for my research as a PhD-student. For this occasion I gave a Lehrvortrag and I wrote an extensive Forschungsbericht (in German).
Chess For many years I have been an avid chess player, and in this sport I am an International Master. One of the nice things about this is that I got the chance to discover quite a few places along the way. So far I travelled to the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, England, Ireland, Denmark, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Switserland and the Dominican Republic to play chess tournaments. In Germany I play for Tempo Göttingen, and in the Dutch meesterklasse for S.O. Rotterdam. Some highlights of my career can be found on wikipedia and my elo-rating can be checked on the website of the FIDE. Due to a lack of time (see above) I participate only rarely in longer tournaments nowadays.
